Meet Your Retreat Host, Michelle Chua
Founder of Root 2 Rise Yoga and 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher
Global travel has been my catalyst for personal discovery and transformation. I love immersing in down-to-earth cultures that awaken open-mindedness, harmony with nature, the joy of simplicity, living wholeheartedly and appreciation of diversity. Ultimately, my adventures abroad have been teachers of living my Yoga and Mindfulness practice.
Through hosting this yoga retreat in the mesmerizing natural landscapes of Bali, steeped in the culture's reverence for nature, spirituality and humanity, I'm inspired to support your renewed loving connection with Life and your inner source of peace and vitality.
During my first visit to Bali in 2017, I was struck by the locals’ predominant reverence for Life and its Source expressed through art in daily activities. From the busy holistic wellness hub of Ubud and its quieter outskirts in the jungle to an isolated mountainous rural village, I witnessed and admired people of all ages creating art as a daily ritual and lifestyle: handcrafting morning devotional offerings, gathering as skilled artisans in the workplace, decorating nature with beautiful altars to honor harmony, cooking colorfully spiced meals, decorating the neighborhood and each other for sacred ceremonies and much more. Seeing such heartfelt beauty adorning daily life with intentionality and grace reminded me that our life itself is our art.
After guiding our first amazingly fulfilling Bali Retreat in May 2019 with an eclectic tribe of 16 adventurers (photos below), I'm eager to return and co-create new life-transformative experiences with you in October 2023!
